Britt Anderson Photography I grew up north of Chi-CAH-go but made my way south to the Savannah region by way of my husband's job. I didn't know what to expect in Savannah yes, my reference point was Forrest Gump. Sad, I understand. But after some time I fell deep in love with this area and embrace the beauty I really think it helped inspire my photography a little more. Now, while based back in the Chicago region, I am blessed to be able to travel back to my adopted home often.

Speaking of photography I love it. Of course, right? I mean, how many people are lucky enough to actually work what they love every day? My first love, my family, will always be my mainjob and yes, I love that job too. But to be able to catch these moments in time for others love, love, love.

As an early childhood teacher in my former life, I am able (and patience) to engage children to get the most out of them at each and every session. You know those moments when you are about ready to pull your hair out and tell your kid to just smile?! Yeah, I can handle it.

You can believe that when you work with me you will get a high quality experience with a high quality product. If you are not satisfied, I will do whatever it takes to make it right well, except give up my first born or anything but pretty much anything else I promise!

I am a specialists in maternity, newborn, child, senior, and family portraiture. I am located in the northern suburbs of Chicago, IL, however I often travel to the Savannah, GA and Hilton Head, SC areas for sessions throughout the year. You can find me in the Gurnee, Libertyville, Vernon Hills, Lincolnshire, Green Oaks, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Deerfield, Wheeling, Northbrook, and Winnetka areas. I am also blessed to be able to service the low country and coastal Georgia areas several times a year. Please inquire, and I may just be in your area!

As always a very pleasant experience. Love the artwork that's scattered around the park. However, the place used to be free to enter and $20 or so for parking. Now it's roughly $22 per person and $8 for parking. Their butterfly exhibit is $24 each. So unless you buy their cheapest yearly pass for $129, you're already spending roughly $100 for one visit for two people!

This place used to be nearly free, now there's a handful of free dates. This is a Chicago forest preserve and should be free to enter! What the heck?! Food is outrageously expensive for very basic stuff. Tap water in the lunch room tastes worse than Chicago tap water somehow. The butterfly exhibit was very cool albeit short. While I do enjoy going there, not much changes from year to year.

With all the money that's being spent there daily now, how about making some major changes? Have some form of walking across platforms on the water to get a new view of the place or something. Money just can't be a problem anymore. Most of the place just stays the same. I know you can't just rotate plants, but you can always make new paths and alter current ones for a different experience. I was left a bit disappointed.

Let me start by saying, if you love botanic gardens, get the membership! They have options that range from households plus guests to individual memberships. They even have an option for people who live more than 75 miles away. And get this: if you become a member, your entry and parking fees are covered! If you choose not to join, expect to pay between around $16 - $22 per person plus $8 per car (I think vans & other larger vehicles cost more).

Once inside, the gardens have acres upon acres of breathtaking displays to enjoy! Our favourites are the fruit & vegetable garden, the Japanese garden, and probably the bonsai display. The gift shop has lovely items plus local honey (so good for you)! The cafe has a good variety of options and the prices aren't too crazy. We haven't tried the tram yet but it's on our list. The garden closes around 8pm so you could literally spend the whole day here!

Always a treat to visit this well known, established and such a gem of a botanical garden. I very much reckoned to visit to enjoy all sorts of botanical marvels they created here. The cafe offers delicious options for lunch and pleasant facility to dine in. I'd suggest to buy tickets online as well as prepaid parking to expedite your movement through the entrance.

This place degraded in last year. It was open to everyone for a long time. Then it surrounded itself with gates and fences and started to sell tickets. Prices were reasonable at first but today I was shocked to see the price 24 dollars. This place became dedicated to rich and privileged and excluded others. People who is doing all manual work for the communities being paid minimal wage or less are shown that they are not welcome. As I am seating in the park on sunny Saturday at midday - park is practically empty as you can see on the photo. People who did this should be ashamed.

Had a great time walking through the botanical garden. Probably would take about 3 hours to traverse the whole garden and that assumes you take no pictures at all. I had a great time.

It's prime time for the tulips! Today was a little chilly in the lower 50's (for the baby anyway). There's still more flowers expected to blossom in the next 2 weeks like crabapple trees. I believe you need to buy tickets in advance or at the door. The entrance setup is different from years before. Come bring your family out when the weather hits 70 and it'll be perfect Here are the highlight of today's pictures

Weather stole some of the joy this tranquil place can spare. Esthetic fruit& veg garden, lost opportunity to reach the trolley ride as is tucked away in a tangle of gardens! Saw three weddings and sweet sixteenths parades- lovely! Plenty of seating available throughout. People picnicking on blankets included. Dahlia Society selling over 40 varieties of potted seedlings. A bonsai garden featuring 600-1000 old tree! Pay $8 parking online along tickets or become a member. Food grossly overpriced.

The botanic garden is a breath of fresh air in such an urban setting. Just a short drive away from the city, and nestled in beautiful suburbs, the Chicago Botanic Garden is a destination everyone should visit. I've been a member for years now, and keep coming back to unwind, get away and get some much needed sun. I usually visit during warmer months, but most recently visited in early spring. It was still a joy to be there, and there were beautiful colors surrounding me in an otherwise gray Chicago.

Went and saw the orchid exhibit: The Orchid Show Untamed. It was lovely, informative, and set up so thoughtfully. There were several rooms of different temperatures and designs featuring different orchids and plants. There was plenty of seating if you got tired. There were guides to teach you and answer questions. As well as so many Instagram worthy photo spots if you're into that. Worth every penny. I cannot wait to go back and see the entire outdoor garden in full bloom.

It's a very beautiful place to visit in all seasons. And a must when you visit Chicago it is situated on a 45 min drive from downtown. It is well connected with public transport. Pictures shared are for the month of April when flowers are in full bloom.

Unbelievably talented and down to earth photographer. This was the first time I'd every had professional pictures taken (other than my graduation pictures). I was a little nervous because I don't like being the center of attention, but Britt made my husband and I so comfortable in front of the camera that we didn't want the shoot to end. Our photo session was on the 28th of September and she had our proofs ready exactly 7 days later! I am so impressed with her work, I can't say enough good things!! Please check out her website to view her amazing work!
