Lauren Fitzgerald is a natural light and studio portrait photographer specializing in children’s portraiture and family photography. An award-winning author and seasoned photographer, Lauren’s duel interests in writing and photography led her to earn a Journalism degree from the University of Maryland, College Park where she graduated Magna cum Laude with honors. After working for many years in the publishing and media industries, Lauren established her own photography business and studio in Western Howard County.

Lauren's natural style and earthy aesthetic has made her a popular choice among children’s photographers in the Washington-Baltimore area. Her photographs are rich with texture and depth, incorporating every inch of the10-acre property and studio in which she works. Lauren’s philosophy is that a portrait should capture the subject’s true personality by giving little if any instruction on how to behave or “pose” before the camera. Her restrained approach creates photographs that are organic and authentic, unlike traditional franchise portraits that tend to appear flat and uninspired.
