Portraits by Rod is a portrait photography service. Our goal is to capture special moments in time and create images that you will be proud of. My name is Rod Arroyo, and I am the owner / principal photographer. There was that moment in high school, standing in a darkroom developing my first black and white print, when I was saw the image from my camera appear before my eyes.
My job is to make you look your best. This moment in time happens once, and you want to look your best for the last year of school. Plan out the photo shoot - Answer your questions and plan a PhotoWalk at a place such as a downtown, park, etc. Have Fun and Capture great portraits - Go outdoors and take great photos of you at a place you love, not in a boring studio.
As a senior picture photographer, I have discovered great venues in southeast Michigan to take high school senior portraits. My top three on-location portrait locations are Birmingham (Oakland County), downtown Detroit (Wayne County), and Macomb County (several locations). Birmingham is where it all started.
The hard work that goes into sculpting a body into a healthy and fit example for others is something to be admired. This hard work can also be celebrated with a unique portrait session. Whether it's a high school or child athlete, fit parent, runner, bodybuilder or fitness instructor, we know how to light you so you will look your best.

President and Principal Photographer
Rod Arroyo has been interested in photography since early childhood. He served as a photographer for his high school yearbook. Rod began his college career in photojournalism, working for a daily newspaper based at the college. Rod started his business in 2000. He has published eight books of photography featuring cities and neighborhoods. His portrait photography often includes downtown settings and other urban places.
