No matter who or what I photograph - executives, actors, celebrities, families or events - I want the images to be truthful and powerful. I'm a documentarian at heart, so I like to capture a sliver of story in every photograph. I formally trained at Pomona College, the New York Institute of Photography and the School of Visual Arts, but experience has been my greatest educator: I've shot hundreds of thousands of photos in Manhattan and around the world, tramping through 26 countries and 7 continents, including Antarctica.

We've shot a LOT of editorial and lifestyle photos, and I recently realized that despite the diversity of subject material, I'm always on the lookout for the same thing. Depending on what the client wants, I'll play around a little with angles and looks and lighting - but inevitably, the shoot REALLY gets going in earnest when I uncover the thread of a story.

I've traveled all over the world, much of it during a one-year trip with my (then brand new) wife Sherri. We tramped through 26 countries and 6 continents. A few years later, I added Antarctica to my list of journeys, after which several major newspapers in the U.S. and Canada published my articles and photos.
