Locally owned and family operated, Bill Smith Photography and our school pictures division, Campus Color Studios, have been recording school and family memories for generations. Started by Bill Smith (aka Grandpa) and his large format camera, a pony, and a basement darkroom; Bill Smith Photography has grown into the community-focused entity it is today. Bill Smith Photography continues to be a full-service portrait studio and photo lab serving the greater Sacramento area.

Portrait Tips

Avoid spaghetti straps, strapless and logo T-shirts. These styles have the potential to look very awkward in close up photos and will decrease your photo choices. If you will be wearing multiple outfits, bring in the outfits you will be changing into on hangers. We have plenty of space for you to hang your clothes so they don't get wrinkled.

Want a casual look? Then this session is for you. Images will range from close-up to full-length. Our photographers will be happy to help you choose the backgrounds that best fit your look. The images are captured in black & white. The lighting and clothing are selected to show contrast that only black & white images can capture.
Business, Corporate & Commercial Photography

The Business Portrait Session is photographed in our studio. Several images are taken from traditional headshots to half length images depending on preference. View proofs online within one business day. One retouched image is provided to you digitally. We offer on-site business portrait sessions.
