We shoot catalogs, calendars, print and web advertising, CD covers, posters, model comps & portfolios. We assist fashion clients and models with websites and internet marketing. We're also available for personal fashion portraits.

I founded John Manning Photography in 1987 after having owned and operated a Michigan Avenue advertising agency and having won awards for creative excellence and having helped clients in various industries achieve marketing success. As a result of my friendships with several successful fashion models and looking at their images as well as weekly trips with them to the bookstore looking through fashion magazines for their tearsheets, I developed a strong passion for outstanding fashion images.Soon I became interested in creating those images myself.

Fashion photography in Chicago is usually middle of road stylistically but sometimes "spiced" with more avant garde influences from the east and west coasts and even Europe. We try to inform our work with the latest trends and influences by keeping abreast of current styles in the better international and cutting-edge fashion and culture publications and websites.

Our studio has been dedicated to model photography in Chicago, New York, Miami, and Los Angeles since 1987. Since that time we've shot many thousands of great models, including: men, women, and children, fashion, beauty, glamour, runway, and commercial models. This includes black-and-white, high definition imaging, special effects, and expert digital photo retouching and compositing services.
